Retail Space For Rent On Franklin Street!

WOW. 500 -3,400 square feet sounds pretty phat. As does 1,400 – 5,200 square feet of “professional space”. But there’s one hitch…

it hasn’t been built yet.

Here’s a photograph of floor one of Karl Fischer’s 200 Franklin Street Frankenfinger . It was taken November 27, 2008. Do you honestly think these clowns are going to have this floor (much less a second floor of “professional space” and the heap of crap above it) completed by February 2009? Really?

But I suppose hope GREED springs eternal.

  4. wasn’t this supposed to be some kind of 12-story glass n’ steel condominium haven? retail might be nice, as long as it’s not ANOTHER bar or Thai place. either way, it’ll be an eyesore being that tall. way to cast the Astral into shadow.

  8. While it would be nice to see a smaller building, dizzyman, I just don’t see it happening. Developers maximize the floor area ratio (FAR) of a given lot to get the most rent/sales out of that lot. Even now, they’ll probably build the tower on top, and it’ll probably be a glass & steel condo with giant windows & no character.

  10. maximizing the FAR like that often results in FARt.
