Coming To Bedford Avenue: Duane Reade

The scaffolding is down at Bedford Avenue and North 3rd Street and oh, what a sight it is!

Of particular interest to yours truly was the promise of a Duane Reade…

which, it should be noted, will be located right across the street from a veritable Williamsburg institution: Kings Pharmacy. I was not the only person who questioned the wisdom of this business placement. A number of passersby took notice as well. Then again, it’s not like Bedford Avenue hasn’t borne witness to this kind of thing before.

    2. I wonder if they’re still planning to put the Duane Reade in – seeing as how Walgreen’s just bought them out.

    3. I was wondering that myself. Who’s to say? What concerns me is these new developments, the chain stores they’re bringing in and what ramifications (if any) there will be for local businesses.
