This photo was taken today, September 21st, by Sherry Wasserman. I wonder if “management” read the piece Brokelyn wrote yesterday admonishing people that the police read Yelp reviews? Hmm…

  2. Sorry, guys. This sign has been up for over a month. It’s what inspired my yelp look-a-roo.

  4. Fascinating. That would mean that the visitations from the 94th Precinct have worked, perhaps?

  6. Yes, only fecal stained degenerates from Eastern Europe are allowed to openly drink beer in public, great job old 94!

  8. Actually per last night’s Community Council meeting, they have been ticketing men for drinking in McCarren Park as well.

  10. Whoa, whoa, whoa there mcgolrickheights. I sure hope you’re not referring to the Polish alcoholics in McCarren park. Poland happens to be in Central Europe, champ. Furthermore, what good would it do to ‘bust’ the bums drinking in the park? They can hardly afford their next bottle let alone a fine from the cops. Hipsters are the one’s with money and the stupidity to drink in public, bust them! So the next time you feel like stepping down from your soapbox built out of irony take a walk around McCarren when the weather is nice and count how many foam cups you see rolling around and multiply that by whatever the fine for drinking in public is. I am willing to bet it would be a tad bit more that what the bums could ever rake in.

  12. I have to confess that I too question exactly how effective ticketing these guys for drinking at McCarren will be. It’s pretty obvious a number of them are alcoholics and/or mentally ill. They need treatment. As for the Styrofoam cups, I shot lots of photos of them strewn in the park over the summer. Not a pretty sight.
