As the weekend approaches I imagine a number of you are making plans. Among these plans is probably a loathsome avocation called “brunch”. Speaking as someone who does NOT want to eat waffles at 4:00 in the afternoon, I wish I could find the person who came up with this concept so I can take a brickbat to the side of his (or her) head. Thankfully I recently learned I am not the only Greenpointer who harbors this sentiment.
The chap sporting this shirt was at the Greenpoint Coffeehouse last Sunday afternoon. It should be noted that a number of his fellow patrons were partaking of “brunch”. When I asked him if I could take a picture of his shirt he gladly obliged, adding:
Spread the word.
Consider it done.
Miss Heather

brunch is everyday if you eat at diners.
I love brunch! And in fact, Greenpoint Coffee House is one of my favorite brunch places! I still enjoy the shirt though.
i like brunch food :O( and brunch drinks.
i don’t know who turned it into a trendy must-do activity but find it unfortunate that this delightfully good meal now has negative connotations.
damn where can I get a shirt like that!
god i hate this shirt. i saw some douchbag wearing it at harefield road eating bruch. being super ironic.
brunch is awesome. shirt, not so much.
Really? This is how people spend their time? Coming up with ‘ironic’ t-shirts to wear to restaurants to show how cool and avant-guarde they are while belittling the relaxing pastimes of others? Clever. The next time I see someone wearing a shirt like that one while sipping their coffee and writing their ‘novel’ in between reading Gawker and The New Yorker online (and complaining about how trite and overdone their fiction is) I’ll make sure to unveil my ‘Hispters are Assholes’ shirt.
Wow. Are hipsters assholes? Are brunch eaters assholes?
Maybe John Tesh could write a thrilling, buoyant fanfare for this epic faceoff.
I think you all should stop calling each other names before somebody’s feelings get hurt.
All I’m saying is I don’t want to eat fucking waffles and eggs at 4:00 p.m. Is this too much to ask?
Anyone who has ever had to serve brunch knows that this shirt speaks truth to power!
