Presenting Gentrification Bingo!

First off I want to thank everyone out there for their generous submissions. I received some real doozies from a number of you. As promised earlier this week here is the first draft of Gentrification Bingo for your Friday afternoon entertainment. Enjoy!

  2. Happy to see a few of my submissions on card #1. More for your consideration:

-“Fresh Direct,” “Amazon” or other online store box.

-Bottled water containers in recycling bags. (As opposed to “Krasdale” and “Goya” cans.)

    -Used-book street vendor.

    -Cheese shop.

-Liquor store with greater red wine selection than flask vodka selection.

    -“Historic district” sign.

-Custom paved sidewalk (Bedford Ave. between N. 3rd – N. 12th, for example).

-“L” Magazine in a neighborhood not actually served by the “L” train.

-Gourmet pizza toppings (and/or $5 per slice).

    -Organic anything.

    -USA-born soccer fan.

-Subway stop with a rush hour at 4 AM.

This is fun. I’ll keep my thinking cap on!

  6. Sorry for the double submission of near-identical lists. I’m not on crack (yet)–just thought I accidentally hit the “Reset Comments” button and then I tried to remember all that I wrote!
