The Greenpoint Lofts

It has been several months since I have lavished attention upon the above-mentioned “business ready condos” so on a lark I swung by 231 Norman Avenue to see what’s shaking.

Because, you know, nothing says getting down to business like a fitness center and panoramic city views*. Don’t believe this flier actually possesses this advertising copy? Click here and see an unannotated copy of it for yourself.

*Mark my words: People will be living in this building before you can say 600 square feet for $255,000.

  2. Actually, the city really is cracking down on stuff like this, so it’s doubtful that people will live there. However, what probably happened is that the developer just assumed that they would get the zoning variance, so they went ahead and built, and then when the city showed up half a dozen times, they realized they weren’t going to get away with it, so they had to turn it commercial. this is what happened with the Loom out at the Morgan L stop – it was built as luxury lofts but the city showed up so many times they had to stay with the commercial conversion. However, word on the street (otherwise known as, someone who emailed me about it once based on a post on a blog) is that the landlord is now turning a blind eye. however, that’s a crappy loft out at Morgan and this is BIG AND IN YOUR FACE.
