From The New York Shitty Inbox: The #1 Ugliest Building In Queens?

Remember that phlegm-colored condominium a bong’s toss from the Pulaski Bridge in Long Island City called the L Haus? Well, I almost forgot about it. Thankfully we have Autumn Sol to thank for reminding us that this nondo-in-the-making received a very dubious distinction this morning.

They even rolled out the scab-busting rat. Good times!

  2. I just loooooove that they rolled out the rat for this. I just knew that building was the ugliest in Queens. I hope someone rolls out the rat for the ugliest building in Greenpoint. My choice is the huge brown building near McCarren. You know, the one with the bulls eye on top. I’ll send you a photo, even though I’m sure you have a file full of winners!

  4. The building of which you speak was designed by Karl Fischer. I call it the “Son of Sam” building (because the bull’s eye reminds me of something Mr. Berkowitz would inscribe). Speaking for myself I’d nominate the Luminous (which I will note is ALSO a Karl Fischer building). Fucking hideous.

  6. Fan-damn-tastic! I called this building out back when discussing the Triple Nipple across the street (bridge?). I thought it was atrocious then. Recently, though, they’ve added bare cedar wood dividers to the outdoor patios that just take the cake. I’ll have a difficult time not laughing at those who bought units when they move in in Jan. 09. Oh, wait…

  8. In my opinion, the LHaus wins, for location, for size, for having “modern” yellow siding in a brick-like pattern, and for its Garden State Brickface & Stucco stone base which I just recently noticed.
Keep in mind that this is the entrance to Queens this way, and makes McGuiness Boulevard look positively classy in comparison.
The “triple nipple” is freakin’ Fallingwater compared to this.

  10. I saw that building in some recent photos of Bitchcakes on Flickr and was going to comment on it even though her photos were in regards to something else. I just couldn’t believe how ugly it was!
