This item comes from a person named “JB”. He/she writes:

I’m a former Greenpoint resident and I just started an art collective with a bunch of Greenpoint/Williamsburg/Brooklyn folks called dead·pan (collective).

We’re going to be creating multimedia events and curating an online gallery — the idea is for a bunch of people working in different mediums to collaborate on events and content.

It involves Greenpoint photographer Hannah Thomson, Greenpoint filmmaker James Jones, Williamsburg residents Eva Talmadge (www.tattoolit.com) and Dustin Long (author of Icelander, McSweeney’s &  Grove Press), Susan Y. Chi (The Forgotten Borough), Audrey Ference (the L magazine’s “Natural Redhead”) Simone Heusler (artist, textile designer, musician), The Poetry Club Art Space, KGB Bar, Kino Films, and bands The Tablets, The Living Kills, and Miezekatze.

We’re already planning a second multimedia July 9 event to help raise funds for the Greenpoint Reformed Church Soup Kitchen with Katherine Carlton, who may have been in touch already.

Our first event is Friday May 13 at Public Assembly. I’ve attached a flyer here. You should come out and we’d love it if you gave it a shout out, if you felt so inclined. It should be a lot of fun. Some of the giveaways include free Drawn &  Quarterly books, HarperCollins books, music, and distilled alcohol (bourbon). We’ll also have food from Nha Toi and Van Leeuwen.

I have a confession to make: I could care less about the foodstuffs (whoever nice they may be) these folks had me with Easter Vomit!
