Not my usual subject matter, but I couldn’t pass up her posing against the corporate logos: Times Square is good for that kind of surreal juxtaposition. To say nothing of the tourist-looking family behind her!

This gentleman (I did not get his name) had three rats in total, two in a cage, one perched on his shoulder. Here he’s just asked the rat for a kiss and they’ve puckered up, rat and man, in a lovely show of affection, a lovely human moment in the crowds of Times Square.
(What you can’t hear are onlookers saying “Ewww!” and “Hey, look at that!” Photography lies that way, but tells a deeper truth: the seriousness of the man, his care and love for his rat.)
