From The New York Shitty Inbox: An Ugly Incident At Bedford Avenue

thumbJASONWAGNERA number of you, dear readers, have brought this story to my attention. For those of you who are not in the know, a rather ugly arrest recently came to pass at the Bedford Avenue stop of the L train involving— get this— a PUG. Although there is certainly more to the story than what has come to light, I strongly encourage each and every one you to read Gothamist’s coverage (they have since added some photographs of the incident, such as the one to the left, which was taken by Jason Wagner). One word: DISGUSTING.

  2. I am no friend of Hasids, and I am no friend of hipsters, but I do not think that we have heard the entire truth here – from either side.

  4. How terrible for that poor girl. I hope they do a full investigation.

  6. Agreed. There are a few different accounts in a NYP article that was linked to somewhere in the comments. Plus, any time you walk away from an officer you’re asking for trouble. Suck it up, fight it later. That, and always wear a shirt.

  8. I agree with neighborhoodtthreat and amoja. There is more than one version of the events, and I tend to suspect that our pug lady’s statements are somewhat self-serving, and extremely naive. You don’t walk away when a cop is in front of you, and you don’t call cops “asshole” even if it makes for fascinating twittering later on.

  10. reading the Gothamist article, it is interesting that most of the anti-Semitic comments were quoted to the NY Post from a “source”. And about 20 minutes after Gothamist ran the story. Also interesting are that named witness accounts from Gothamist do not mention any kind of anti-Semitism at all. Definitely not the full story here.
