Praying for cooler temperatures? I’m sure Fall is like a godsend after wearing winter wools all summer long.
It is part of a ritual during the High Holidays of Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur: washing away last year’s troubles/sins/what have you and making a fresh start. People pray and then go through the motions of tossing away the past year into running water.
