I was saddened to see this sign. I know the hood is changing but this was the first shop I went into upon moving here in 98.  First, two Duane Reade’s now this!

This is the deli that Al (and a cat named Halloween) once presided over. What will come next is anyone’s guess. A nail salon perhaps? So it goes…

  2. Sad. That deli was there for a way long time. It was there when I moved to N9th in 92 and I went in mostly to visit the cat. Another sign of the apocolypse.

  4. It’s a sad day ….

The landlord wanted to double their rent. I also know that it has been hard for Mike without his Brother – Al. They have always been good neighbors, friends and a part of the community.

Clinton Hill is very lucky since they are moving over there.

  6. The landlord up’d their rent from 13k to 25k a month. That kind of crap should be illegal and that greedy douchebag of a landlord should rot in hell. I lived in that neighborhood for 31 years only to watch it fall apart and become a wasteland, full of no-good, selfish, inconsiderate degenerates.
