50% off everything at the Salvation Army on Bedford & North 7.   They are selling everything before they close for renovations!   Yes, the Sally’s is getting a facelift.   They are gonna reopen in 2013.   It will be 3 floors with an elevator taking people from the ground floor up to the long unused second floor and the unknown basement.  The employees will be transferred to other stores so no one is losing their jobs which is good to know…

Salvation Army 50% Off Sale
NOTE: They are closing shop January 2nd, 2012!

  2. “Closed for renovations” almost always means “out of business forever.” At least that’s the way it is for private businesses, who aren’t able or willing to deal with the loss of revenue that a temporary closing would entail and therefore find a way to stay open during renovations. Things are different for the Salvation Army, of course, so it’s entirely possible that this location in fact will reopen after the work’s done.

  4. I poked around the Department of Buildings web site. Very interesting. It would appear they have a standing Stop Work Order— BUT plans have been filed (and approved) regarding the top-most floors. Hmm.

  6. Hmm maybe the SA will move out and make room for a charity that does not openly lobby against gay rights.
