Spotted On Manhattan Avenue: Great Wall Of Beer
Filed under: 11222, BAD ASS, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic, Stuff That Makes Miss Heather Happy
I know what you’re thinking, gentle readers:
How “great” can this wall possibly be?
It is nothing short of breath-taking, my fellow Garden Spotters. We’re talking at least thirty solid feet of suds. Do go and behold the Greenpoint glory for yourselves— you will not be disappointed!

TOMORROW: Community Board 1 Combined Public Hearing & Board Meeting
Filed under: 11211, 11222, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
Among the manifold number of provocative items on the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting is a presentation by the Open Space Alliance’s Executive Director (and New York City Parks Czar Supervisor for all parks located in Community Board 1— don’t forget that our tax dollars are largely footing the bill for her salary, folks!*): Stephanie Thayer. Which hat will she wear tomorrow? Why not show up and find out! My advice is as follows: B.Y.O.N.O. Bring Your Own Nitrous Oxide!

*Here’s the arrangement per an anonymous tipster:
hmmm…not that i really care, but that’s not entirely accurate. she is paid 50% directly by the city, then OSA sends 50% to the city out of their operating funds and the city pays her with that money. OSA does not get any city money. Annual Report is coming out Oct 10th so you can check it all out there.

This is just a quick reminder that (among many other things) tomorrow the Church of the Ascension in partnership with Dog Habitat will be conducting its annual blessing of our local fur kids and a service of remembrance. Check it out!

New York Shitty Day Ender: Live From Bushwick Inlet
The weather was hardly hospitable— but who would I be to complain? I had an absolute ball! I got to meet some really amazing men and women and view interesting artifacts inside a metal storage container while riding out the storm! What’s more— and as one chap stated— this was quite authentic given what we were commemorating. I mean, this IS the U.S.S. Monitor we’re talking about after all! Without further ado here is some footage from today’s proceedings. Enjoy!
