The politics of fur aside (and for the record I am con, not pro) I can’t get past trying to figure out how the cowboy boots fit into this ensemble.

oh dear. what is it with men and furs lately? i have not seen the full-length coat thing yet, but on two different occasions, i saw men sporting the fur jacket look. no cowboy boots were involved though.
If my memory serves me correctly this gent usually rounds off his ensembles with a cowboy hat. The overall effect is rather pimp-like and reminds me a lot of this:
