Too bad Nick’s Luncheonette isn’t open anymore, as I envision Popeye Doyle staking out the place in his car across the street.
Can you imagine what the interior must look like? I’d love to see it. I imagine it is like a time capsule in there!
I’m heartened that Nick’s Luncheonette is still there. When I photographed it in ’04 there was a quick-fast-and-cheapski building going up next door and I feared for the ol’ place. It would be amazing to see the inside. There might be a “Ford to City:Drop Dead” copy of the Daily News. Or a pack of baseball cards with Ron Swoboda. Or a flat sixer of Yoo-Hoo. Shit, I gotta stop dating myself like this…
