From The New York Shitty Inbox: Found On Dupont Street
Jay Lombard (who sent me the above photo) of Dog Habitat writes:
Heather- please post this photo. This dog was found as a stray (with choke collar) near manhattan ave and dupont a few days ago and we’ve been trying to find the owner. We heard that there was a man driving around the area looking for a lost dog, but we have no other leads or contact info. We’re hoping one of your readers will recognize this pretty, brindle female pit mix.

Speaking as someone who deals with a great many men who will buy the most revolting pornography imaginable and then become shrinking violets at the possibility their friends and neighbors will catch a glimpse at their purchases (hence they ditch the VHS boxes and insist upon their merchandise being placed in black plastic bags) I really admire this guy. He wanted a copy of Polish Playboy so he went out, bought one and he doesn’t give a shit who knows it. Bags are for pussies.
In closing I’d like to share a piquant observation the Mister made when I showed him my discovery. He posited that this is proof that men really do read the articles. When I asked him to elaborate he pointed out a Polish man is carrying a Polish copy of Playboy. Had he only wanted to ogle naked women he wouldn’t have cared what language this magazine was in. Very true.
