P.S.: I would like to take a moment to thank the very kind B62 bus driver who honked at this chap so my mother could get a picture of him. It was greatly appreciated.
From The New York Shitty Inbox: Milk & Roses Is Open…
(and apparently a big hit with one Greenpoint resident!)

Hi Miss Heather!
I’m a Greenpoint sister and a loyal reader of newyorkshitty. I just wanted to let you know there is a fantastic new cafe called Milk and Roses on Manhattan Ave. between Clay and Dupont. It’s BEAUTIFUL inside and they have a nice garden that is well on its way in the back. There is also an old baby grand piano inside. It’s my new favorite place in Greenpoint and it is unmissable. Go now before their liquor license comes through because I have a feeling when summer hits and the vino flows, it will be packed!
Thank you for the entertainment of newyorkshitty! I love my neighborhood and it is always nice to know that someone else appreciates Greenpoint. I wouldn’t live anywhere else in New York.
Amanda on Dupont St.
This morning I swung by to see this establishment for myself.
They have done a rather impressive job— and the cappuccino I had was rather tasty too! You can peruse Milk & Rose’s menu by clicking here. Check it out!

WTF?
I can only hope this “meet-up” is going down at the Nature Walk.

From The New York Shitty Inbox: Presenting Shangri-La Studio
This most unexpected (and welcome) item comes courtesy of the peeps behind the defunct (and sorely missed) East Coast Aliens. They write:
East Coast Aliens are pleased to announce the grand opening of Shangri-La Studio. After the shock and sadness of having to shut down ECA studios last year we are delighted to pass the torch on to a new and better venue in Greenpoint. Shangri-La shares the same vision of providing professional artistic services and a center for art and culture. Shangri-La is bigger, stronger and faster but don’t take our word for it and come find out for yourself during the opening party next Saturday (see invite below). Promotional rates for the studios will be extended to film makers and photographers who attend the party. If you can’t make it next Saturday stop by during May to visit the studio and take advantage of the promotional opening rates. Mention East Coast Aliens in your inquiries and you will be treated as a return customer. We look forward to seeing you there.
