This comes from New York’s Finest via an anonymous tipster:

On Monday, January 16, 2012 at approx. 2120 hours, the suspect, a M/H/25-30 years old, entered Dunkin Donuts located at 356 McGuinness Blvd, where he approached the counter person and displayed a black handgun and ordered the worker to open the cash register. The suspect then removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register and fled in a black auto with a grey or white hood. There were no injuries during this incident.
The suspect is described as a M/H/25-30 years old, approx. 5’9 – 5’10” tall and medium build.
Suspect was wearing a Yankees baseball hat, black sweatshirt, black vest, grey sweatpants and white sneakers
Anyone with information in regard to this incident or the identity of this suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-80-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at WWW.NYPDCRIMESTOPPERS.COM or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
All calls are strictly confidential.
As some of you have undoubtedly noticed, the title of this post indicates that this is not the only robbery to have transpired at this establishment. The previous one, also an armed robbery, came to pass September 29, 2011.

You had a recent post showing this lost poster. Thought it was cool that the owner did this… Corner of driggs and kingsland
It is! I am delighted Charlie found his way safely back home. Thanks Kyle!
Spotted At 400 McGuinness Boulevard: Smashed
A pair of simple mishaps or a sign of something more sinister? Given the controversy surrounding— if not outright hostility directed at— the proposed 200 bed assessment center at this location I am not so quick to rule out the latter. Therefore I have brought it to the attention of the head of the 94th Precinct, D.I. Hurson. He has assured me he is looking into it.
UPDATE, 9:45 p.m.: I have word from Mr. Hurson no reports have been filed regarding this. Interesting…

Since I am vaguely on the subject, I would like to take a moment to bring two pieces of legislation to everyone’s attention: the Stop Online Piracy Act and Protect IP Act, better known as “SOPA” and “PIPA”. While I have little doubt most of you are already aware of what these are about, PC World has a rather balanced article on the subject which can be read here.
Speaking for myself— and New York Shitty being my web site I am going to take the liberty of tendering my two cents— I am against SOPA and PIPA. I, as many others, will readily concede online piracy is a problem. However, these pieces of legislation have— at least potentially— very serious ramifications. Ramifications which could endanger sites like this one.* I would also be remiss if I did not point out that some of the supporters of SOPA and PIPA are habitual plagiarizers of this site. I will leave it to your powers of deduction to determine about whom I am writing.
In any case if any of you, dear readers, agree with my take and want to add your voice to the opposition (which includes Internet notables such as Craigslist, Google and Wikipedia, among others) you can sign an online petition protesting SOPA and PIPA by clicking here. Thank you.
*Which today was cited by Mayoral candidate Tom Allon as: “…one of the great bulwarks against corruption and incompetence we have in this city.”

Clearly this chicken— at least not all of it— didn’t make it to the other side of the road.

When I spied this lass on the B62 yesterday I simply had to capture her for all posterity. Every item on her person— and I mean every single article of clothing and accessories— was purple. Purple earrings, purple fingerless gloves, purple boots with purple heels, purple purse, etc. This is Manhattan Avenue fashion at its finest, folks!
