Charles Le Brigand who shot the above photograph writes:
Errol was on his way to a car show in Coney Island when I stopped him on Nostrand Ave. He smoothly turned down the volume of the stereo and said – “sure, where should we do this?
“Follow me” I said.
While on my bike, I mentally scanned through the neighborhood to find the right location for the shoot. I was looking for a clear, uniform background so the cherry-red color of Errol’s 1968 Catalina could really pop out. And this plain metal fence was just perfect.Errol told me that his Pontiac is the only model registered in the State of NY and that he had won several trophies in local classic car shows over the years. He invited me to the next one in the Bronx and I told him that I would be crazy to refuse a ride through the boroughs in this exquisite classic.

My mom found this sweet kitten last night on the corner of Meserole Avenue & Mcguiness Blvd (she lives next door to the abandoned house whose stoop she was on).
Female kitten. Her claws are groomed which makes me assume it is someones (not a stray). She knows how to use the litter box. Extremely friendly (even to my dog, and my moms 2 older cats). Would it be possible to post this on your blog in the hopes of finding her mommy & daddy?
Im going to go to the Greenpoint Vet on Nassau with the same picture in the hopes that perhaps they recognize who she is.
Thank you so much.

Quicklink: An Interesting Item From The Real Deal
An excerpt/teaser from this tome:
…According to the complaint, in November 2007, the landlord gave Nazor, who had lived in the building since 1983, and Mickle, whose arrival date is not specified, notice that he wanted them out. They refused, and so he filed a suit in January 2008 to evict them, and in December 2009, a judge said they had to go. They continued to battle in court, and then after the new carve out was passed in July 2010, they filed new papers supporting their right to stay.
The law seeks “to convert a structure with only two residential units solely to benefit the individual tenant-defendants, tenants of the only one building in the only one unit in the entire city of New York which would possibly qualify,” the complaint says.
Terrence Oved, a partner with law firm Oved & Oved, who was not involved in the litigation, said it was not unusual for a law to change an element like the number of families needed to define an IMD, but he added, “the particularly narrow scope of the carve out area — as such term is defined in the complaint — does raise a red flag.”…
Indeed it does.
