I imagine some of the people reading this will want to enjoy this recent bit of pleasantly mild weather at one of our public spaces. If so, you will probably want to avoid the Manhattan Avenue Kayak Launch. An anonymous tipster (who sent the above photographs) writes:

Hey there,

Just wondering if you’ve seen the atrocity that is the metal recycling barge at the end of manhattan ave near the Newtown Creek. These guys are parked a 1/4 of the way into the park and have destroyed the entire view looking east. My dog won’t even take a shit down now there cause the metal being splashed around scares the hell out of her.  They’re at it 12 hours a day… please help spread the word, and have people call 311.We have too few parks as it is. I can’t believe the city would approve of this nonsense (assuming they know about it, which is doubtful).

Thanks!
