Coming To 120 Franklin Street: Van Gogh’s Radio 2.0?

No liquor license hearing notice has been posted, but per the agenda for our local Community Board’s Public Safety Committee agenda this may very well be the case!

You will also notice, dear readers, that Coco 66 (albeit via 68 Greenpoint Avenue) is also on the docket. Hmm…

But back to 120 Franklin Street— and CKTP LLC. After some research I deduced the Greenpoint grapevine may very well be correct. The chap behind CKTP LLC endeavor, Christopher Klusak, has close ties to Van Gogh’s Radio.

Will Van Gogh’s Radio be making a comeback? It certainly appears to be the case. However, there’s still that liquor license hearing meeting on September 27th. Only then will we know for certain…

THIS WEEK: 94th Precinct Community Council Meeting

There seems to be some confusion about exactly when this month’s 94th Community Council meeting is slated to happen. This is understandable given they announced at the last meeting it was going to be changed and, well, after “summer break” one tends to forget. I know I did, so I asked the head honcho of the 94th himself, Deputy Inspector Terence Hurson, to set the record straight. Without further ado here is the amended date for this month’s meeting (Thanks Mr. Hurson)!

94th Precinct Community Council Meeting
Tuesday, September 20, 2011 starting at 7:30 p.m.
Church of the Ascension
127 Kent Street
Brooklyn, New York 11222

P.S.: I will be posting an updated calendar for the remainder of the year for those of you who are interested.

From The New York Shitty Inbox: Live From The Bath Tub Races!

Laura Hoffman (who took the above photographs) writes:

Hi Heather!

The bathtub races were awesome. I went with my youngest son and oldest grandson, while we waited for his parents and new brother to pick us up. Even though we couldn’t stay for the whole event,  we had fun. There was good music & food. And the thought of tub racing was hysterical. Thought you’d like to see the photos… When my oldest son, wife and new baby picked us up, we found ourselves driving behind a Bat Mobile.

AWESOME!

New York Shitty Day Starter: Found At The McCarren Dog Run

A good Samaritan named Christina writes:

Hi Miss Heather,

I am a Williamsburg resident and a dog owner of a while whopping year. I was at the dog park (McCarren dog run) on 9/13 and found an abandoned dog there. Poor thing had been tied up to a fence with no tags, no micro chip, etc.

Just look at this guy!!! He’s adorable. I took him home because I couldn’t just leave him there, you know? I took him to our vet and he’s around 8 years old, needs a dental cleaning, and is unfixed, but he’s probably one of the chillest dogs I’ve ever met. For real, all he does all day is sleep and sit in your lap.

He’s 9 lbs. Pretty tiny. So I’m asking if you’d post about him on your blog. He didn’t do anything wrong to deserve being abandoned, and the ASPCA said they would come pick him up, but that if he couldn’t find a home, he’d be euthanized.

He’s really sweet and deserves the best. He enjoys kibble, long walks, napping, and water…. (the dog on the left is MY dog and is not up for adoption)!

Anyone interested in giving this cutie the care and forever home he deserves should contact Christina via email at: stina93446 (at) mac (dot) com

Thanks— and please spread the word!
