From The New York Shitty Inbox: More About Tres Toros Taqueria*
Hi Miss Heather! On my way home yesterday (7/22), I noticed the new taco establishment on Driggs was having its “soft opening.” I didn’t jot down the address but it’s between Eckford and McGuinness in the site of the bodega that was there. I’ll be going back to try the rice and beans and corn on the cob (veg options). It looks promising — large place, new wood floor, clean decor — and good AC! The friendly guy behind the counter told me he is from Carroll Gardens and is friends with the previous bodega owner. I thought you’d like to know about this one!
Although I learned about this most auspicious development from Jay earlier this month, I suspect I speak for the vegetarians in our fair burgh when I write that I am very pleased they have fare on their menu for us. I for one am very eager to hear Monika’s review!

*Humor me, folks. Not only does yours truly need a break but I have been inspired to write an essay about my eventful week. As of the writing of this post it is about half-completed and looking pretty good!

This morning yours truly got up bright and early to take a walk. Heatwave be damned. I make such sacrifices for my readership.
I was quickly rewarded for my perseverance when I met the above lass. Her name is Liz and I found her fashion sense quite stunning.
I asked her if she made the above necklace (which as you will note includes an abacus: this appealed to my inner nerd in a big, big way). She answered to the negative; she found it while working at a second-hand store and was immediately smitten. This is understandable for a number of reasons— especially since (as I later learned) she is a fashion designer. You can (and should) view Liz’s work by clicking here. It’s seriously fun stuff!
