This item was forwarded to me via an anonymous tipster. Given the great many amazingly talented people who visit this site (be they north Brooklyn residents or otherwise) I feel compelled to pass along this rather nifty opportunity. NOTE: the deadline for applications is September 7th and that will be upon us soon enough. Good luck!

From The New York Shitty Inbox, Part II: Origami at McGolrick Park?

This item (and the above photograph) comes courtesy of a very nice lady named Brooke. She writes:

Hi Miss Heather!

I was wondering if you have seen or know anything about this lovely origami crane installation in our hood @ McGolrick? My roommate and I have been admiring them for a couple weeks and we’re so curious who’s behind it!

If I had to hazard a guess I’d say that this is either the handiwork of NBPacArt or students at P.S. 110 (which is located across the street) If anyone reading this has the 411 about this rather nifty piece of public art please share via comments or email at missheather (at) thatgreenpointblog (dot) com. Thanks!
