I knew this story was in the works for some time but as of this morning it is online! My favorite sound bite:

You can’t hear yourself think. Not only do they come feeling good, they leave feeling better…

Read it for yourself. Closing on a related note, I am pleased to announce a new “friends of” group has been established for East River State Park! Here’s the announcement I received from a very nice lady named Julie Lawrence.

  2. Good morning Miss Heather, thanks for sharing info about the upcoming meeting for a new Friends group for East River State Park.

One clarification: I am *not* the founder of the ERSP Friends group. An ERSP Friends group was founded by Neighbors Allied for Good Growth (NAG – at the time, Neighbors Against Garbage) in the mid-late 90s. The group has been inactive for most of the past year. The recently-appointed ERSP director, Andrew Bogardt, advertised a meeting on May 14 to get people re-interested in the Friends group. The focus of the upcoming meeting on June 2 is to re-form and re-invigorate a community-based State Park Friends group. We hope to find a whole new cadre of creative, energetic volunteers to steward our spectacular State Park. We hope you will all join us!!

    -Julie
