Williamsburg Halloween Watch: Three Ghosts

October 20, 2010 ·
Filed under: 11211, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn

Is it just me or is there less Halloween spirit than usual in north Brooklyn? Some of my favorite haunts (pun completely intended) have yet to put any decorations at all. Perhaps they are simply running behind? I can only hope so. In any case, I was happy to see these three goodfellas back at in on Metropolitan Avenue yesterday!

Spotted On Graham Avenue: Canned Food Drive

As I mentioned previously, there are a number of food drives going on right now. For those of you who are less inclined towards the living dead (or simply live nearby) you can leave donations of canned goods at M. De Vito Paint & Wallcovering.

From The New York Shitty Inbox, Part II: Zombiefest!

October 20, 2010 ·
Filed under: 11211, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn

This item comes from a lady named Allison. She writes:

Hi Heather,

I’m not sure if you have an events page or not, but I’m doing a charity event and need all the help I can get to promote it.  Attached is the Press Release and the flier for the event.  In short, the event is a Zombie Crawl, Film Screening of “Night of the Living Dead”, and an after-party.  The donations collected for the event will directly benefit the Food Bank For New York City and their efforts to fight hunger.  If you can spread the word about this Brooklyn event, I’d be incredibly grateful!

New York Shitty does not have an events page— but given the sheer number of press releases I am receiving nowadays I am seriously mulling over erecting one. In any case, there are a number of events benefiting our local food banks (and thus our neediest) in the next couple of weeks and I will endeavor to give each of them a mention. As Allison has mentioned, the Zombie Crawl will kick off at Jamie Campiz Playground on October 30th at 4:00 p.m. From there all interested zombies will head over to indieScreen where they can watch their brethren wreak havoc for a sweet $12.00. There is also an after party slated at The Cove afterward. Check it out!

Zombiefest
Saturday, October 30 starting at 4:00 p.m.
