Greenpoint Photos du Jour: T & N Wine, Revisited
After I took the above images a couple of male passerbys remarked:
I wonder if he’ll put live chicks and bunnies in there again?
Um, after the colossal shit storm last year I ssupect that will not be happening this time around.

Last night I received a call from Chris Arnade. He wanted to know where this building was located (Grand Avenue) and how he could learn more about about its founder: Charles J. King. I suggested the Brooklyn Daily Eagle archives and later did a little digging. I didn’t learn anything about the man behind this wonderful building— but I learned who he was not. Without further ado I present for your April Fool’s Day delectation a case of mistaken identity and a slipped mickey courtesy of the December 16, 1900 edition of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle. Enjoy!
So there!

LAST GASP: WTF
The above product was brought to my attention by a chap named Jan. In an email entitled “from the no, no NO STOP IT department”: he writes:
One of the guys in marketing at work received a package from this company today, and I couldn’t believe they make and sell this kind of stuff… I was drinking a lukewarm caffeinated beverage when I first saw this, and almost sprayed a manager’s laptop.
Oh, but they do! My questions are as follows: is there is a demand for this product and why?

New York Shitty Slide Show du Jour: Be It Ever So Humble…
Ever since the Mister and I learned why there are eight campers gracing the Garden Spot’s waterfront we have not been able to get it out of our collective minds. Finally we capitulated this afternoon and paid this ad hoc trailer park a visit. Good news: the number of campers is holding steady at eight. Bad news: one shows sign of, um, habitation. Enjoy!
