One of the things I love about Greenpoint (and New York City for that matter) is you can walk down the same street a hundred times and still find something new. Take these great grotesques which grace the front of  735 Manhattan Avenue, for example. Although they may appear to be identical in actuality they are not.

  2. There are similar reliefs on the top of the elementary school building in my neighborhood. Which, to me, seems to run counter to the Board of Ed’s mission of not scaring the crap out of its kindergartners.

  4. Don’t worry Brian, the kindergartners are too short to see that high. Maybe they mean to intimidate the older kids into better behavior?
