So, these are all guys who used to live at the OTB at 756 Manhattan Ave. The Lotto-centric newsstand just up the street was closed for renovation for a while, but had always been the secondary hangout when OTB closed early on certain days.
Now there’s a small but growing contingent of the old crowd passing the days at the newsstand. I don’t know if they get to store their seats there overnight. We’ll see if the scene starts jumping as the weather gets warmer.
Earlier in the day there was there gents hanging out (one with a baby in a baby carriage). One had parked his car, opened one of the doors and was blaring disco. Later that evening there was a whole new group of dudes hanging on out said seating. Clearly this is THE place to hang out. I can’t say I honestly blame them. The weather was so nice yesterday who wouldn’t want to be outside watching the world go by!
