Found on Devoe Street: Cat
Filed under: 11211, Crazy Cat Lady, East Williamsburg, East Williamsburg Brooklyn, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
This dignified male tabby (note the ascot) was found Tuesday on Devoe Street between Judge and Olive Street. His good Samaritan, Sarah, estimates his age to be about one year and reports:
He does not seem as though he has been out too long, probably less than a week. He was hungry, scared and tired.
If this is your cat please contact Sarah at essdotweather (at) yahoo (dot) com.
Thanks!

Prizes Wanted
Those of you who are familiar with Greenpoint know its people, while occasionally brusque, have a lot of heart. Which brings me to the purpose of this post: yesterday I was contacted by Ann Kansfield, the co-Pastor of the Greenpoint Reformed Church, about an upcoming fundraiser she is organizing. On Thursday, December 3rd, our very own TBD will be hosting a trivia night with proceeds to benefit the Soup Kitchen and Food Pantry. Other than attending (that’s pretty much a no-brainer) here’s another way you can help: by donating prizes. A number of local businesses have already stepped up to the plate (thanks Mousey Brown, Dandelion Wine, Cafe Grumpy and anyone else I am missing!). I myself am planning on donating a piece of art work. Truth be told, the possibilities are pretty limitless.
If you too would like to lend a hand by donating a gift certificate, handicraft, or whatever your imagination can muster please contact Ms. Kansfield via email at ann (at) greenpointchurch (dot) org. Not only will it make you feel good, but you will be supporting a great cause: feeding your fellow Greenpointers!
Thanks.

Quicklink: More Ado About Lucas?
Filed under: 11222, Crazy Cat Lady, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic
I caught this handsome (and rather rugged chap) sneaking a little shut-eye on Humboldt Street awning yesterday afternoon. On that note (that being the other kind of catnapping) it would appear the tale of Lucas’s disappearance has found its way to the Brooklyn Paper. Not only is yours truly cited (imagine that) but apparently the guys at Pets on the Run are offering a $200 reward for the return of their beloved feline. You can read the whole sad story by clicking here.
