Something Neat: Shots From The Fair
Recently I was pleased as punch to acquire a few more snapshots to add to my small (but growing!) collection of 1939 World’s Fair photos! I am not too sure where the first two were taken, but the last one hails from the Electric Building. I was able to figure this out by magnifying the lettering at the top left-hand section of the photo. Because I think this is really neat (and I like to share neat things) follows is a slide show of my collection to date. Enjoy!

Bed Stuy Photos Du Jour: Bottoms Up!
Speaking as a Greenpoint resident, I can attest that I see empty liquor bottles— lots of them— on a daily basis. What I have never seen, however, is an artful arrangement of said items. This brings me to the image above (which was taken at DeKalb Avenue).
This is truly impressive.
What’s more, the person(s) responsible for this have seen fit to separate the bottles from the cans. NICE!

The paper is slowly being removed from the much-promised Garden Spot Cafe…
yet there appears to be plenty of work left to be done! Does anyone have the 411 on when this establishment will (at long last) open? If so, I’d like to hear from you— via comments or email at: missheather (at) thatgreenpointblog (dot) com.
Thanks!
