If my memory serves me correctly this canine had a taste for Stroh’s. But hey, this is Greenpoint: Garden Spotters prefer tall boys.

Spuds was the Bud Light dog, Alex the retriever was from Stroh’s. As immortalized by Tone Loc in Funky Cold Medina.
You are indeed correct! (just rolled out the Tone Loc to “fact check”)
Every time I hear that song I think of “Uncle Buck”. That was, without argument, one of John Candy’s best movies.
