Just noticed the “Hotel” sign is gone and there’s a fresh coat of paint on the front. Heard anything? Up for sale or perhaps just renovating? Hoping for the former!!

For those of you who are unaware, the Greenpoint Hotel recently exchanged hands. The word on the street is it will be converted into a rehab facility. Lucky us.

  2. Hi there
I lived in Greenpoint from 1997-2002 and look at your blog every now and then out of curiosity about the old ‘hood. While I have no proof, I suspect that some of the folks I sometimes found shooting up in the vestibule of my building back then resided in the hotel. So the target demo for a rehab facility might be in place, but I have to wonder how successful it might be…

  4. I am apart of the management that took over the Old Greenpoint Hotel. We are not renting rooms
at this time.We are concentrating on cleaning up the property. We are working with the local municipalities to finally get rid of the bad name that the hotel has earned in the past. Many people have been living at at the old greenpoint hotel for many years. When people originally came to stay, they never imagined that they would stay for ever.

We are helping tennants find housing in other areas in brooklyn with the help of the Vetrans adminstrations programs and HRA.WE DO NOT HAVE ANY PLANS TO FILL THE BUILDING UP WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSERS.
Please give us an opportunity to show you that we care about Greenpoint and we are not going anywhere.Feel free to contact us at 347-294-0110 and ask for Jay
