C-Town Special

I didn’t know you could purchase this at the local grocery store. God I love New York City! Only in the Big Apple can you get this service delivered right to your front door. Literally.

Russell Street

Watch out for those chocolate bunnies, they’ll get ya!

Norman Avenue

This cute little guy has a basket full of tasty treats!

Russell Street Two

As does this dapper fellow on Russell Street. I wonder why these eggs are so big— maybe it has something to do with the sewage treatment plant?

Manhattan Avenue

This delectable rabbit is certain to tickle many a sweet tooth today.

Even the blood pressure monitors on Manhattan Avenue are feeling the holiday spirit!

Porky Pooper

I found this item at The Garden yesterday as I was doing a little grocery shopping. For the paltry asking price of $3.99 I couldn’t resist picking one up for Mr. Heather.

Instructions

He can’t open it until tomorrow (after the Easter bunny gives it to him), so in the meantime he’ll have to be content with savoring its rather amusing instructions. Why not be your own bunny, outlay four bucks and get a pooper of your own? Greenpoint can never have enough poop!

Those of you who prefer bovines over swine will be pleased as punch to know they also have cow poopers! You can find them by the deli section.

The Kosciuszko Bridge

Kbridge

I am certain a number of my fellow Greenpointers are relieved to learn that yesterday the State Siting Board unanimously voted against TGE’s proposal to build a power plant at Bushwick Inlet. What might have fallen under your radar, however, is the Kosciuszko Bridge was denied landmarking and its days are numbered. I cannot honestly say I am surprised by this development, but nonetheless I do feel a sense of loss. In honor of this much-maligned bridge I have pulled an article from the September 23, 1940 edition of New York Times about its naming. Here it is.

9/23/1940 NYT

Once this bridge is rendered into so much scrap metal its legacy will live on in the minds of many a movie enthusiast. Anyone familiar with the movie The Godfather will know exactly what I am talking about*.

Fedders Friday: Jefferson Street Revisited

March 21, 2008 ·

It had been awhile since I checked in on one of my favorite pieces of Feddertecture: 100 Jefferson Street. Wishing to gauge the progress of this study in stucco I walked by there recently. I am pleased to report it is coming along quite nicely.

100 Jefferson

The fence is down…

100 Jefferson 2

and with its departure has come graffiti.

Pare at 100 Jefferson

Lots of graffiti. I wonder if the developer hired someone to do this so these luxury town homes would have that built-in “urban” feel? If anyone out there has the last name “Pare” today is your lucky day. Your dream home awaits.

100 Jefferson Back

Not only is this building appointed with Fedders boxes in the front, but it also sports a plentiful number of them in the back —along with some inspired use of aluminum siding. Magnificent!

100 Jefferson Detail

All for your air-conditioned comfort. One can never have too many Fedders.

P.S.: Per a new New York Shitty commenter, Ali:

Pare el desplazamiento = looks like displacement…

Here is Halden’s (AKA: Brooklyn11211) take:

Pare el desplazamiento means stop displacement (parar is “to stop” – I’ll take Ali’s word that desplazamiento means “displacement”).

Magazine Like House

Granted the house in question is located in Queens, but the above advertisement was located in Bushwick. Exactly what kind of “magazine-like house” is this realtor pushing? Golf Digest? Field & Stream? Soldier of Fortune? Playboy?!?

If it is the latter most the Mister and I are packing up our bunnies and moving to Queens!
