I do not know what to call this repurposed piece of metal— but here it is anyway. If you want to make this item your own head to 700 Lorimer Street.

P.S.: What is this? Thoughts, anyone?

Greenpoint Photo Du Jour: Salvation Army
Caryn Rose (who took the above photograph) writes:
the combination of the hardware store and the sally army store has taunted me since i moved here all those years ago. i never have my camera when the light is right and when i have my camera the light is wrong. i still didn’t have my camera and this isn’t what i wanted ultimately but at least it’s here so when those buildings are sold i can still remember this part of greenpoint.

Give how much interest my post about yesterday’s “gun play” on Monitor Street has elicited, I feel compelled to make everyone aware that this month’s 94th Precinct Community Council meeting is this upcoming Monday, January 17th at 7:00 p.m. NOTE: since this is Martin Luther King Day (and therefore a bank holiday) it will be conducted at the Peter J. McGuinness Senior’s Center.

Greenpoint Consumer Product Du Jour: Intoxication By Nation
I stumbled upon the above shot glasses at Biedronka while running errands this afternoon. Regrettably, I could not find a price. But let’s face facts: that isn’t really an issue with this kind of thing.
