When I saw the pink plumage I had to go in for a closer look. When I did I learned this festively fettled lass’s name is Wednesday. And today— a Friday— she made quite a splash on Manhattan Avenue!

Queens Crap recently received a real gem in his “crap box”: a Department of Sanitation memo outlining how waste is to be transported hereabouts. If you have ever wondered about this kind of thing (and I know you’re out there) here is the answer in a nutshell: it entails shuttling material from Long Island City through Greenpoint to Blissville.

This item was brought to my attention by my buddy across the creek, Queens Crap. Tomorrow starting at 9:00 a.m. the folks at the recently re-launched Phun Factory will be hosting Old Tymers Day: a collaborative project by over 50 graffiti artists from the 1960’s – 1980’s which will give North 15 Street and its environs a much-needed makeover! You can learn more about this event and Phun Factory by heading over to the latter’s temporary web site. Check it out!

While scarcely a fan of television this gives me an opportunity to pass along some information that I (and undoubtedly the person who annotated this poster) found interesting. As it would happen there is Greenpointer in this season of Top Chef. Her name is Jacqueline Lombard and she is the fourth woman from the left.
