Stuff

Some interesting urban artifacts are manifesting of late due to 177 Huron Street doing some, um, “housecleaning”.

Alas, Mr. Ed: I knew him well.

Poor Mr Ed

P.S.: If any of my elected officials or the Department of Buildings are reading this, would you be so kind to check this out.

As you can see, this building— or more specifically its landlord (who is apparently overseeing this clean up)— has quite a few interesting complaints filed against him.

Stop Work Order

This property has had a standing Stop Work Order since 1991. If that piece of paper was a person it could buy beer for chrissakes. Perhaps it has? Because it is nowhere to be found.

The Word On The Street, Part I: All Apologies

allapologies

As spotted this evening on the premises of the Franklin Corner Store. A couple observations:

  1. This is one very polite— or at least apologetic— thief.
  2. Where did he/she get the post-it note and sharpie marker? Were these purloined as well or does he/she keep ’em handy for just these occasions? Anyone?

Jilly Ballistic, who took the above photograph, writes (in an email entitled “That’s a new one”):

At the corner of Huron and Franklin.

There’s an explanation behind this. I assume.

Another tasty angle of this find.

I was so intrigued by this when I arrived back in Greenpoint (Yes, I do leave it— more about that later) I swung by and checked it out.

branson

Yup. If I had to hazard a guess as to what this is, I’d go out on a limb (or would that be ledge?) “Branson” and say he’s a buddy of this guy.
