Greenpoint Photo Du Jour: Unwanted Visitor
This message (which for the life of me I cannot comprehend— and this is not for wont of trying) comes courtesy of Franklin Street.

SATURDAY: Greenpoint Craftworks
When I found a flier for this event yesterday on Meserole Avenue I was intrigued, so I shot a photograph of it and looked it up when I got home. Here’s the scoop: one Saturday, October 24, starting at noon an artist by the name Jason Kachadourian will be having a one day installation of this work at a friend’s storefront at 178 Driggs Avenue. Judging from what I saw on Mr. Kachadourian’s web site we are for a real treat: his work is is absolutely stunning. Check it out!

I have received a number of emails about this incident and in the public interest I want to pass it along. STAT. Casey writes:
Hi Miss Heather,
I live over on Diamond and Nassau, where apparently a woman was raped the other day.

I’ve never felt unsafe in my neighborhood, but after this and the recent muggings on Driggs in the same area, I just wanted to get the word out for my neighbors to stay safe and alert.
Thanks for all you do with newyorkshitty, and congrats on being named best neighborhood blog!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, Casey. I want to tender my sincerest wishes to the victim of this assault and her loved ones. Has Anyone Seen Wythe?
Filed under: 11211, Crazy Cat Lady, Greenpoint, Greenpoint Brooklyn, Greenpoint Magic, Williamsburg, Williamsburg Brooklyn
The cat, that is!
I am guessing the author of this flier meant to write “last seen Sunday, October 16th“. If you have seen Wythe* or know of his (or her) whereabouts please contact his “person” at the above telephone number. Let’s get this gorgeous guy (or gal) back home where he belongs!

*Which is a WONDERFUL name for a cat, by the way.
From The New York Shitty Inbox: Pinball?
Robert writes (in an email entitled “Pinball Wizardy”):
There is a makeshift pinball arcade set up in the car impound lot on Franklin btwn Eagle and Dupont. You must check this out.
I’ll be upfront: I found this very difficult to believe. So I headed to the location of the purported pinball parlor without delay.
It’s for real.
I spoke to the owner of this establishment about his new side business. He told me he brought the machines in for the enjoyment of “the guys” because “you only live once”. I was also assured kids of all ages are more than welcome to come by and play. TIP: the “Grand Slam” machine will only set you back 25 cents a game!
Only in Greenpoint, folks.
