Urban Fur: Stray Cat Strut

(sort of)

Feral and fed on Judge Street nys

A fulsome feral fella from Judge Street.

Afternoon Nap nys

A pampered pussy just down the block.

Garfield in bondage nys

Garfield in bondage via a truck grill a little further down. Maujer Street, methinks.

Cat Hotel Meserole Street nys

Naturally I had to check in on my favorite feral cat Callie. So I headed east on Meserole Street. Therein I discovered the “Cat Hotel”!

SGI nys

Alas, neither she nor her “friend” Peter were to be found. However, her on-again/off-again companion from across the street was holding court.

One handsome tuxedo nys

He’s one handsome— and thankfully ear-tipped— fellow.

Smudgehead nys

And last, but hardly least, this lass.

She put on quite a show for yours truly— and in return got ample rubbins!

East Williamsburg Photo Du Jour: Intransigence

This is the first instance of “lol speak” I have ever spotted on a construction fence. ANYWHERE. It hails from Judge Street. A tiny thoroughfare my upstairs neighbors (who once lived there) warned me about. And rightfully so. It’s creepy.

Nonetheless I keep going back to Laugh My Ass Off at the “luxury condos” being built there.

On that note, dear readers, today’s offerings will probably be lite in light of the fact I am totally exhausted after hanging my show at t.b.d. and mingling with friends— new and old. Inasmuch as I can deduce I pulled a 12 hour day yesterday! I need a cat nap.

Found on Devoe Street: Cat

Moab2

Moab1

This dignified male tabby (note the ascot) was found Tuesday on Devoe Street between Judge and Olive Street. His good Samaritan, Sarah, estimates his age to be about one year and reports:

He does not seem as though he has been out too long, probably less than a week. He was hungry, scared and tired.

If this is your cat please contact Sarah at essdotweather (at) yahoo (dot) com.

Thanks!

Unfortunately it’s time for me to move on.  The 11222 offers a small variety of shack or dump and occasionally a one bedroom (with a shower in the kitchen and a toilet on a different floor) within my price range.  All very tempting but I’ve reluctantly decided to return to Queens, the land of my birth.

New York Shitty will continue to be a daily read for me, unless the memories become too painful to bear. In closing here is a picture i took of a pile of shit someone left on top of a VCR Sunday morning on the corner of Newel and Norman.

This makes me sad. Inasmuch as some say the rents are falling here (and to some extent they are) the fact of the matter is they are still WAY above their fair market value.
